Dr. Zafar Zaidi graduated from Dow Medical College in 1987, passed his FRCS in 1991and trained in urology in UK and in Paediatric Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital London. He returned to Pakistan as Adult and Paediatric Urologist in 1997 as Assistant Professor of Urology at Kidney Centre Postgraduate Training Institute and set up the First Paediatric Urology Unit in Pakistan. He is a Fellow of European Board of Urology.
Dr. Zaidi has been actively involved in teaching and training of Paediatric Urology throughout his career and has conducted courses and workshops for training all over Pakistan besides supervising Residency Training Programs for last 20 years. Many Urologists of the country have trained with him and now occupy key positions in the country.
In May 2006, Dr. Zafar Zaidi left Kidney Centre and took up the job of building and then running The Indus Hospital as the Director Medical Services at Indus Hospital , a job he did for 10 years and helped in realization of a dream of setting up a Free, Quality care hospital with cutting edge technology and innovation in the field of health sciences. While continuing the responsibilities as Professor of Urology at The Indus Hospital, he has also been appointed as Adjunct Professor of Global Surgery at University of Texas Health Science Centre at Houston, USA for his contributions to global efforts in surgery and health care.
Dr. Zafar Zaidi has spearheaded the Indus Health Network as Director for all new projects. He has been responsible for establishing 12 Hospitals under control of IHN from design to complete operations.
In December 2017 , Dr. Zafar Zaidi was appointed as Dean of Indus University of Health Sciences and assigned the task to set up the University. Dr. Zaidi is deeply involved in research and academics and has to his credit 40 papers published in international journals. He has contributed to chapters and is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Paediatric Urology , Iranian Journal of Urology and Founder Editor of PAUS News. He is member of multiple National and International Urological Associations.
