Dr Salman El Khalid is a graduate of 1985 from University of Sind. After completion of Internship, he joined the Residency program at Aga Khan University from where he completed his FCPS in 1991. He then went to UK and completed FRCS in 1992. After his return, he initially rejoined Aga Khan University as an Instructor but later joined The Kidney Centre in 1993 where he is still working as Chief Urologist and Head of Department.
Dr Salman has been an academician throughout his professional career participating in several national and international conferences as a speaker and also as an Invited Guest Lecturer. His major area of interest is Prostatic and Stone disease. He has been a pioneer in use of Laser for Prostate in Pakistan and has also been a Master Trainer for junior colleagues in both standard PCNL as well as Mini PCNL, Laser Prostate surgery and Laser URS. He also received training in Renal transplant from Melbourne, Australia and currently heads the transplant surgical team at the Kidney Centre.
Under his supervision, over 24 residents have graduated with FCPS and are now working not only in Pakistan but also abroad.
Dr Salman has been Past President of PAUS Karachi and Secretary of PAUS Centre. He is currently the Secretary of Urology Faculty of College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP). He is also an Active Member of European Association of Urology and the Societe’ Internationale d’Urologie.
