Mr Mohammed Belal was educated at King Edward's School, EdgbastonBirmingham, followed by a degree in medicine at Cambridge University.
His surgical training took place at several nationally renowned centres of excellence, including Guy's Hospital, London and the Bristol Urological Institute. Mr Belal was awarded a place on a prestigious fellowship, in Melbourne, Australia, where he gained an additional year of higher surgical training.Mr Belal has published extensively and presented nationally and internationally. He is a lead investigator in multiple clinical trials. He was elected as a committee member of the BAUS section of functional urology.
Mr Belal was appointed as a consultant urological Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham in 2011. His sub-specialty is the bladder, including the treatment of incontinence, bladder pain, neurourology and complex reconstructive surgery. Mr Belal is a course director of an internationally recognised urodynamics course.He is the regional provider of sacral neuromodulation and one of the UK centres for mesh removal. He is one of the largest implanters of artificial urinary sphincters and male slings in the UK.
